Free Tourist Visa on Arrival

The Maldives offers a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival to citizens of all countries. This makes traveling to the Maldives incredibly convenient and hassle-free. There is no need to apply for a visa in advance!

Entry Requirements

To enter the Maldives as a tourist, you must have:

• Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival
• Return/Onward Ticket: Proof of return or onward travel within 30 days
• Proof of Accommodation: Hotel reservation or confirmed booking
• Sufficient Funds: Evidence of sufficient funds for your stay (USD 100 + USD 50 per day)
• Health Requirements: No specific vaccinations required (COVID-19 requirements may vary - check current guidelines)

Velana International Airport (MLE) is the main international gateway. The airport is well-connected to major cities worldwide.

• Best For: Islands within 100km of the airport
• Travel Time: 15 minutes to 2 hours
• Cost: USD 25-100 per person

2. Seaplane

• Best For: Distant resorts and scenic transfers
• Travel Time: 20-60 minutes
• Cost: USD 300-500+ per person round trip
• Schedule: Daylight hours only

3. Public Ferry

• Best For: Budget travelers
• Cost: USD 2-10 per trip
• Advantages: Very economical
